Frequently Asked Questions
While you can switch directly over to Young Again food immediately, the best way to transition your dog to YA food is by doing it gradually. Start with mixing your old food with your new food at a 50/50 split. After 1 week of 50/50 mixing, move down to 75% Young Again food and 25% of the old food for a week. After 1 more week, the dog can go fully to YA food.
Young Again Food is very nutrient dense, so some soft stool is to be expected the first few days. If the stool stay soft, it’s usually an indication of over eating on the new food. We do recommend feeding per the guidelines on your food bag until your dog is used to the new food. Overeating high protein food can lead to health problems for certain breeds.
Not necessarily. Most dog food allergies are caused by protein sources, not grains. Grain-free diets can be helpful if your dog has a diagnosed grain allergy, but they aren’t automatically better for itchy or sensitive dogs. Always consult your vet before switching to grain-free.
